Unlabeled Soya Found in Bao Long Broth Brand as Per AESAN Warning

The Spanish Food Safety and Nutrition Agency (AESAN) has issued a warning about undeclared soy in the 'Pho Gà' and 'Hu tieu Nam Vang' soup bouillon cubes of the Bao Long brand. This issue was brought to light through the European Food Safety Authority's Rapid Alert System (RASFF), following a notification from Swiss health authorities.

The affected products, all lots of the 'Hu tieu Nam Vang' and 'Pho Gà' soup bouillon cubes, packaged in 12 packs of 75 grams each, have been initially distributed in Spain to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Valencian Community, and the Community of Madrid.

People with soy allergies are advised to avoid consuming these products, as the undeclared soy could pose a risk to their health. For the rest of the population, the consumption of these products does not pose any risk.

The company, Bao Long, has reported the incident to the competent authorities, and the alert has been sent through the Rapid Exchange of Information System (SCIRI) to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from commercial channels.

To gather more detailed information about this issue, consumers are advised to reach out to Bao Long's customer service or corporate office. It would also be beneficial to check with local or national food safety authorities for any recalls or warnings related to Bao Long's products. Additionally, looking for recent news articles or consumer reports that might mention issues with Bao Long's products could provide further insight.

Redistributions to other autonomous communities in Spain cannot be ruled out, so it's crucial for consumers to stay informed and vigilant. As the situation develops, it's essential to prioritise food safety and follow the advice of the relevant authorities.

People with soy allergies might want to consider adjusting their lifestyle, as the undeclared soy in certain Bao Long soup bouillon cubes could impact their health-and-wellness. Meanwhile, for those not allergic to soy, it's worth noting that the science behind food safety and nutrition agencies' regulations are crucial in ensuring the quality and safety of our food-and-drink.
