In two separate incidents on May 3, 2020, cyclists were involved in traffic accidents in Germany. The first incident occurred in Jüchen-Wallrath, involving a 40-year-old man from Korschenbroich, and the second incident took place in Meerbusch-Büderich.

At approximately 1:10 PM, a traffic incident occurred at the intersection of Stessener Weg / Am Zollbrett in Jüchen-Wallrath. The cyclist from Korschenbroich was seriously injured, but it is believed that his helmet likely prevented more severe injuries. The car driver failed to yield the right of way to a 65-year-old cyclist from the same town.

In the afternoon, at approximately 5:22 PM, another traffic incident involving cyclists occurred on Niederlöricker Straße in Meerbusch-Büderich. One cyclist was seriously injured in this incident. The 56-year-old man injured in connection with this traffic accident has not been publicly identified. This incident caused minor traffic disruptions due to the closure of Niederlöricker Straße for the duration of the accident investigation.
