Root of Life Project Booms in Primorsky Krai, Engaging Hundreds of Seniors
The 'Root of Life' project, supporting active longevity for the elderly in Primorsky Krai, Russia, has seen significant growth. Launched in 2020, it offers classes on wilderness safety, language learning, mobile literacy, and yoga, covering dozens of settlements and receiving positive feedback.
In the first three months of 2025, over 500 people have benefited from the project across six districts and three urban districts. The project, supported by the Primorsky Krai government, aims to create a sustainable support system for the elderly. It includes hikes, cultural programs, musical performances, excursions, and meetings with local residents.
The 'Root of Life' project is part of the national projects 'Longevity and Active Aging' and 'Youth and Children'. It targets 70% of the population regularly engaging in physical culture by 2030. The public organization responsible for the project is the Primorsky Krai Regional Public Organization for the Support of the Elderly and Disabled. In 2025, the project received a grant of 2 million rubles from the regional budget, as part of the governor's program 'Active Longevity'.
By the end of the year, the project aims to involve at least another 1,500 Primorye residents, including around 600 pensioners. The 'Root of Life' project continues to expand its reach, promoting active longevity and improving the quality of life for the elderly in Primorsky Krai.
