Pursuing a fresh nursing degree at the moment.
The St. Elisabeth Group and the University of Applied Sciences Bochum have announced a new dual study program in Nursing, set to commence in the lecture hall at the University of Applied Sciences Bochum from October 1, 2025. This program offers an exciting opportunity for Abitur graduates without training to start their nursing career with a university degree.
Sabine Dreßler, head of the nursing school at the St. Elisabeth Group campus, explained the details of the program. The dual study program provides a combination of practical training and academic nursing education, with students gaining hands-on experience in St. Elisabeth Group hospitals while studying for a Bachelor of Science degree.
Upon completion of the eight-semester program, students will obtain a Bachelor of Science degree and professional qualification as a nursing professional. The program is designed to prepare students for excellent career opportunities in the field of nursing.
The prerequisite for the dual study program is the Abitur and a training contract with the St. Elisabeth Group. Interested parties must apply for the study program with integrated nursing training via the St. Elisabeth Group's job portal. Once the training contract is signed, registration for the study program at the University of Applied Sciences Bochum will be handled through the St. Elisabeth Group.
Nursing professionals with academic training are already employed in the St. Elisabeth Group hospitals to scientifically evaluate and further develop patient care. The new study program aims to continue this tradition, providing students with the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of patient care from the outset of their careers.
Attractive remuneration is offered to students during the study period. All information about the study program, training, study content, career prospects, application, and remuneration can be found on the St. Elisabeth Group's website.
Until now, the academic career path for a nursing professional began after vocational training and was often completed on a part-time basis. This new program offers a more streamlined and efficient route, allowing students to start their academic journey immediately after completing their Abitur.
The training as a nursing professional begins at the St. Elisabeth Group campus on September 1, 2025. The job advertisement and online application are available through the St. Elisabeth Group's job portal. The program offers a unique opportunity for those passionate about nursing to combine practical experience with academic study, setting them on a path to a successful career in the field.
