Cosmos Magazine Transitions to a Digital-First Future

In a significant move towards embracing the digital age, Cosmos magazine has announced that it will cease print production in June 2025 and transition to a fully digital platform under the brand "COSMOS." This transformation is aimed at providing interactive and innovative content formats, such as 3D scientific illustrations, online resources, and potentially leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance educational experiences.

The new platform will focus on keeping science communication relevant and accessible, aligning with the goals of COSMOS Academy and the wider "Cosmos Tribe" digital community. While specific details about refunds related to the cessation of print production have not been provided, it is clear that the digital transformation and continued science content provision are priorities.

The new COSMOS website will publish peer-reviewed journals, e-books, and fact-based science news. A dedicated news team will continue to publish stories about the latest science discoveries and interviews with scientists, ensuring that the platform remains a hub for science enthusiasts.

For subscribers, the final print edition and digital subscriptions will also end in June 2025. If a subscription was purchased directly from the publishing partner and paid by credit card, the card owner's account will be credited for the balance of the subscription. For subscriptions purchased via an agent, refunds will be organized following their standard processes. For schools or libraries that purchased via EFT or paid on invoice through their school account, refunds will be organized separately.

This move towards a digital-first platform reflects broader trends in publishing, as audiences increasingly gravitate towards online platforms for engaging with science content. The rising costs of producing print magazines may have contributed to this decision, but the focus remains on providing a sustainable future for science communication.
