Organic Nettle 20 x 2g, manufactured by J. Bünting Teehendelshaus GmbH & Comp., is being voluntarily withdrawn from the market.

The J. Buunting Tea Trading House GmbH & Co. Leer has announced a voluntary recall of their Bio Nettle Tea due to elevated levels of Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids (PA). These rogue secondary plant compounds can pose health risks when consumed frequently.

Specific affected batches include those with batch numbers L2435 27, L2435 28, L2435 29 (EXP 08/2027) and L2438 16, L2438 17, L2438 18, L2438 19 (EXP 09/2027).

This recall is because random samples showed an elevated level of PAs in the tea. Over repeated consumption, PA-contaminated food can lead to myriad health issues so steer clear of these batches.

Rest assured, other batches of this Bio Nettle Tea, as well as other products from the Buunting Tea brand, are not affected by this recall.

Customers who purchased these mutated batches are invited to return them to their point of purchase for a complete refund, even without a receipt. If customers have questions, they may reach out to the company via email at [email protected].

The manufacturer, J. Buunting Tea Trading House GmbH & Co. Brunnenstraße 37, 26789 Leer, is the one to contact regarding this recall.

The upshot? Steer clear of the tainted teas and ensure you're not ingesting any unhealthy PAs. If you have questions or concerns, the company should be your first point of contact.

It's crucial to avoid the affected batches of the Bio Nettle Tea due to contamination with Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids (PAs), as repeated consumption of these compounds could potentially lead to various health issues.
