New Earth Residents: Weekly Showcase of Our Newborns

Meet Fynn Meutgens, the cherished second child of Meryem and André, blessed with an older brother Henry. Born at the "Etienne," Fynn arrived four years after his sibling. Though a sizable gap might've been preferred, it took Fynn some time to arrive. According to André, a service manager at a Neuss car dealership, they had a planned visit to a fertility clinic, but fate had other plans. All's well that ends well, as the family is now overjoyed with their newest member. Henry, the doting big brother, showers Fynn with love and care. Meryem shared a heartwarming story; "Every sound Fynn makes, we have to pick him up. At the hospital, Henry even wanted us to press the emergency button immediately!" So, family bonding is high on the Meutgens' list.

Meanwhile, Amaya Achternbosch, our "Baby of the Week" at the Lukaskrankenhaus, was born on February 10th at 17:34, weighing a hefty 3000 grams and measuring 53 centimeters. Amaya's name, popular in Arabic-speaking cultures, means 'beloved.' Lena Achternbosch, a 27-year-old speech therapist, found Lukas to be her ideal birthing spot during a previous hospital stay. Fady Masoud, Amaya's father, was already a grandparent and Amaya was their first grandchild. Lena's parents, Gabi and Oliver Achternbosch, shared the joy of witnessing their daughter and Fady's first encounter in Egypt seven years ago when they were on vacation by the Red Sea. Fady, an apprentice at the hotel at the time, later moved to Düsseldorf and became a barkeeper. He is now fluent in German and was naturalized in 2024.

Visiting Fady's family in Germany might not happen soon, but there's a chance in September: Amaya will be christened in Egypt and welcomed into the Coptic community. Although the connection between Fynn and Amaya isn't apparent, it's intriguing to learn about the two adorable babies born just a week apart. Their parents' heartwarming stories serve as a reminder of the beautiful moments that life brings our way.

In the realm of family-health and parenting, Meryem and André eagerly share the heartwarming story of their newest addition, Fynn Meutgens, voted as the 'Baby of the Week.' At the Lukaskrankenhaus, Amaya Achternbosch, also born just a week ago, joins the race of 'Baby of the Week' contenders, her name meaning 'beloved.' While Fynn's story unfolds within the home-and-garden comforts of the Meutgens residence, Amaya's life begins at the Lukaskrankenhaus, a choice made by her speech therapist mother, Lena Achternbosch, for family-health reasons. Coincidentally, both infants have found a space in their parents' hearts and in the weekly newspaper's 'health-and-wellness' and 'lifestyle' sections, serving as a reminder of life's precious moments.
