Man in Mental Distress Causes Store Disturbance, Injured After Resisting Police
A 35-year-old man, in a state of mental distress, caused a disturbance in Oberriexingen on Saturday evening around 22:30. The man, later admitted to a psychiatric facility, initially asked witnesses to call the police, appearing dishevelled and out of breath.
Upon police arrival, they attempted to escort the man to their patrol car. However, he ran back into the store, damaging the entrance door. Inside, he threw items to the floor and armed himself with broken glass bottles, threatening the officers. Police had to use pepper spray and a police dog to subdue the man, who sustained minor injuries. The man was then taken to a psychiatric facility for care.
The 35-year-old man was admitted to a psychiatric facility due to his psychological emergency state. His violent and erratic behaviour during the incident led to property damage and required restraint by police.
