Health Issue: Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit Halts Public Appearances Due to Lung Ailment - Lung Treatment: Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit temporarily halts official engagements

The Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby is set to return to her duties in November, following a series of sick leaves due to an illness. In October 2025, she will undergo a lung rehabilitation treatment in Norway, marking a significant period of her life.

The specific hospital or clinic in Oslo where the treatment will take place has not been publicly disclosed. However, it is confirmed that Mette-Marit's lung treatment will be conducted within the borders of Norway.

The Princess's public engagements have been cancelled during this period, with only one exception - a dinner with members of the Norwegian parliament on October 23. This engagement will be the only public appearance Mette-Marit will make during her treatment.

Unfortunately, the Norwegian royal family has been shaken by a recent scandal involving Mette-Marit's son, Marius Borg Høiby. He is accused of raping four women, and his trial is scheduled to commence from February 3, 2024. The details of the trial, including its location, have not been specified.

If convicted, Marius Borg Høiby faces up to ten years in prison. This is the biggest scandal to ever rock the Norwegian royal family.

Despite these challenging times, the Crown Princess remains resilient and is determined to recover fully. She is expected to resume her duties in November, bringing a sense of normalcy back to the royal household.

As for King Haakon of Norway, no information regarding his current whereabouts has been provided.

Mette-Marit first took sick leave in September 2023, and she took several weeks off again in October 2024. She also took another sick leave in March 2025. Throughout these challenging times, the Princess has remained strong and focused on her recovery.

This news serves as a reminder of the human side of royalty, as we all hope for the Princess's swift and full recovery.
