Kaiser Permanente Opens CHCP Applications for Subsidized Healthcare

Kaiser Permanente Southern California has opened applications for its Community Health Coverage Program (CHCP), offering subsidized healthcare to uninsured individuals and families. Current members can re-apply from August 1, 2025, to October 1, 2025, while new applicants can enroll from November 1, 2025, to January 30, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Starting January 1, 2026, the CHCP subsidy will be a one-time benefit for adults aged 21 and older, lasting up to three consecutive years. Dependents under 21 are not subject to this limit. To qualify, applicants must live in Kaiser Permanente's service areas, have a household income up to 300% of the federal poverty level, and be ineligible for other health coverage. Applicants are encouraged to seek help from community partners to ensure a smooth application process. When the three-year subsidy ends, members can remain enrolled but will pay the full monthly premium. Kaiser Permanente will assist in transitioning to other coverage options. For details about CHCP, eligibility, and the application process, visit https://charitablehealth.kaiserpermanente.org/california.

The CHCP aims to provide high-quality healthcare to those in need. With the new enrollment periods and subsidy changes, it's crucial for interested individuals to stay informed and apply promptly.
