Jen Affleck's perseverance on 'Dancing with the Stars' two months after giving birth: "Mothers simply push through"
Jen Affleck, the star of the reality series "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives", made her debut on Season 34 of "Dancing With the Stars" on Tuesday night. Her pro partner for the competition is Jan Ravnik, a former Eras Tour dancer.
Affleck, who gave birth to her youngest child in July, is the mother of daughter Nora (3), son Lucas (2), and daughter Penelope (2 months), with her husband, Zac Affleck. Balancing motherhood and the rigorous demands of "DWTS" has taken its toll on Affleck, who admitted to feeling stressed about performing in front of millions of people.
Despite her fatigue, Affleck's performance with Ravnik was a spicy salsa set to Bad Bunny's "NUEVAYoL" in the ballroom. Ravnik praised Affleck's performance, calling her "one of a kind" and stating that she is "killing it" on the show.
Affleck and Ravnik received a total score of 12/20 from judges Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli on Tuesday night. While the score may not have been high, Affleck's determination and passion were evident in her performance.
Carrie Ann Inaba was unable to judge the premiere night performances due to an illness. The judges' panel was filled in by guest judge, Leah Remini, who provided positive feedback for Affleck and Ravnik's performance.
Affleck's co-star on "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives", Whitney Leavitt, is also a Season 34 contestant on "DWTS". Leavitt and her pro partner, Mark Ballas, received a 15/20 for their tango to "Golden" by HUNTR/X.
Leavitt provided some information about the upcoming third season of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives", scheduled for Nov. 13. Affleck and her husband, Zac, have been married since 2019, and they continue to support each other as they navigate their respective careers.
