Gaza Strip - A horrific day in Gaza saw at least 60 deaths from Israeli strikes across the region, the Gaza Health Ministry announced on Friday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the brutal killings, blasting France, the UK, and Canada for proposing to establish a Palestinian state, which he believes would allow Hamas to remain in power.

Amidst pressure, Israel started letting in aid on Friday. Israeli officials claimed they let in over a hundred trucks, including flour, food, medical equipment, and drugs, through the Kerem Shalom crossing. However, U.N. agencies contend that the amount is woefully insufficient compared to the daily needs but suffer extreme restrictions on distribution due to military restrictions and the breakdown of law and order in Gaza.

Despite the looming humanitarian crisis, thousands of desperate Gazans overwhelmed a charity kitchen in Khan Younis on Friday, holding empty pots and containers, hoping for a share of lentil soup. One displaced woman from Rafah, who has been struggling to feed her injured daughter, explained that they have been relying on discarded bread from the streets for sustenance while her younger children survive on soup.

The World Food Program reported that 15 of its trucks were looted in southern Gaza on Thursday night as they were going to WFP-supported bakeries, and called on Israel to allow greater volumes of food to enter more efficiently.

Despite ceasefire negotiations in Doha failing to produce results, Israel has continued its bombardments, causing tens of thousands of casualties, widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure, and displacement. The fighting between Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups has escalated, leading to further suffering among the civilian population.
