India Aims for $5 Trillion Economy, Net Zero Emissions by 2070

India, aiming to become a $5 trillion economy, has set ambitious targets for renewable energy and emissions reduction. By 2030, it plans to source 50% of its energy from renewable sources and achieve net zero emissions by 2070. These goals require technology leadership, industry-academia synergy, and international collaboration, with Singapore being a key partner.

India's roadmap includes the 'Genome India Project', aiming to collect 10,000 genetic samples for precision medicine. This could potentially collaborate with Singapore's similar project. Both nations are also working on innovative solutions for a circular economy in logistics, supply chain, mobility, water, waste management, and infrastructure. They are improving charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, presenting further collaboration opportunities.

In the global context, India can learn from European countries' cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean on research and innovation. Germany and France collaborate on critical raw materials and semiconductor technologies, while Germany and Japan work together on green hydrogen technologies. India, too, can benefit from such partnerships to achieve its aspirational targets.

India's journey towards a $5 trillion economy and net zero emissions by 2070 requires innovative solutions and international collaboration. With Singapore as a strategic partner, India can leverage opportunities in precision medicine, a circular economy, clean technologies, and urban planning through AI and IoT. By learning from global cooperation models, India can accelerate its progress towards these ambitious goals.
