Holiday Season's Delight: A Survey Gives Us Comfort in Our Festive Feasts
Holiday celebrations are filled with delicious treats, family gatherings, and moments of joy. It's no wonder that many of us can't resist the temptation of indulgent holiday feasts. A new poll by CNN revealed some intriguing insights into our holiday eating habits.
During the festive season, many of us embrace the phrase, "the more we feast, the merrier." In fact, a majority of adult Americans, as per the CNN/ORC poll, tend to indulge during the holidays as opposed to watching their waistlines. The survey, reflecting national Census Bureau figures for various demographics, found that young adults aged 18-34 are the most likely to partake in holiday indulgences, with 64% of them admitting to overdoing it. On the other hand, only 40% of respondents aged 65 and above reported indulging in desserts and other festive treats.
When it comes to New Year resolutions, only 23% of the surveyed individuals were inclined to commit to a significant dietary change as of January 1. Remarkably, city dwellers and individuals aged between 35 and 49 were the most enthusiastic about embarking on a new diet, while rural residents, those without a college education, and the elderly were the least likely to make such a change.
