HHS Discrepancies Emerging Over Study Reportedly Sponsored by Nike on Transgender Interventions for Minors: Revised Assessment on Treatment Methods

In a frank about-face, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy has dropped a bombshell this week, striking a blow against years of activism from the media, transgender groups, and possibly corporations like Nike, renowned for their ties to transgender youth studies.

The HHS publication of a comprehensive review on May 1, 2025, has unveiled the harsh reality that sex-change surgeries and related interventions on minors come with "significant risks" but boast "very weak evidence of benefits." That's quite a refreshing change from the politically-driven narratives we've grown accustomed to!

This update provides a worldview based on scientific evidence, as opposed to the political whims of outside groups and their media allies. The HHS review covers a broad spectrum of topics, including puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and gender surgeries, and emphasizes that most of these procedures cause "irreversible physical or physiological effects."

The findings were derived from "systematic reviews of evidence around the world" concerning gender dysphoria outcomes and are strikingly similar to the Cass Report from the United Kingdom, which came to almost the same conclusion. It seems like science and reason are finally taking the reins, doesn't it?

Just a week into his second term, President Donald Trump issued an executive order titling "Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation." Clearly, the US has no intention of allowing "the chemical castration and medical mutilation of innocent children" on its soil.

But here's the kicker: the HHS evidence review states that it fills a "gap in the medical literature and existing clinical practice reviews with regard to the ethical aspects of pediatric medical transition."

In simple terms, it means our nation's doctors are now expected to protect children from unproven and irreversible medical interventions, in line with the gold standard of science rather than activist agendas. If only this team had been in charge during the COVID-19 pandemic, wouldn't we have been better off as a society?

Alarmingly, this report directly contradicts the agenda of transgender activists, the Democratic Party, and many major media organizations. To top it all off, it's just another black eye for Nike, which is yet to comment on whether they indeed funded a study evaluating the impact of puberty blockers on athletic performance in children.

Corporations and research groups were willing to experiment on children, despite "very weak" evidence of benefits and the potential for "irreversible" harms. It's disheartening to see such nonsensical “treatments” causing harm to thousands of kids, and it's equally disheartening that some of America's most powerful corporations might have been on board with funding it.
