The annual traffic safety campaign "sicher.mobil.leben" returned to Oberhausen this year, with a focus on children's road safety. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the campaign has been held, with each year bringing a new focus.

On a sunny day in June, the Oberhausen Police conducted a bicycle proficiency test at Falkenstein School. A total of 47 students from classes 4a and 4b participated in the test, which included a written test, training days with the police, a practical test, roadworthiness inspections for bicycles, and the support of 16 dedicated parents who served as observation posts along the test route.

The slogan for this year's campaign is "#LIFE is the highest good," emphasising the importance of attentive and considerate driving, especially around children. The children completed the course independently, equipped with bicycle helmets and high-visibility vests.

The bicycle proficiency test was a significant part of the 2025 "sicher.mobil.leben" campaign, designed to teach children the essential skills they need to stay safe on the roads. Only those students who passed the written test and made no more than ten points in the practical test received their bicycle licenses.
