Free First Aid Instruction Offered at Ingolstadt Clinic
In the heart of Ingolstadt, the Town Hall Square will play host to an important event on September 25, 2025, as part of Klinikum Ingolstadt's three-day "Week of Resuscitation." Mayor Dr. Michael Kern will be present for the action day, which runs from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
This initiative, under the motto "Save a Life. 100% Resuscitation," aims to equip everyone with the necessary skills to take immediate life-saving action in an emergency. The event is being led by the Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Ingolstadt Hospital, emphasising the importance of being prepared for emergencies.
Prof. Dr. Martina Nowak-Machen, the Director of the Clinic, underscores the significance of these events, stating, "Everyone should be able to take immediate life-saving action in an emergency."
The event will offer free "hands-on" training at various locations, including the Town Hall Square, Ingolstadt Hospital, and Ingolstadt West Park. These sessions are designed to refresh and reinforce resuscitation knowledge, making it easier for participants to respond effectively in an emergency.
Ingolstadt Hospital, a regional focus provider, treats around 33,000 inpatients/outpatients and 68,000 outpatients annually. With 23 clinics and institutes and a workforce of over 3,800 people, the hospital offers the treatment of complex diseases close to home.
Sudden cardiac death is a common cause of death in Germany. With a lower helper rate in case of cardiac arrest compared to international standards, these events aim to empower more individuals to take action in emergency situations.
In addition to the event on September 25, there will be information and training sessions on September 24 at the hospital's Foyer on the ground floor, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and on September 26 at Ingolstadt West Park, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Everyone is invited to attend these events to learn life-saving first aid measures and contribute to making Ingolstadt a safer community.
