In a significant move towards strengthening the scientific and regulatory aspects of apitherapy, the President of the Scientific Committee on Apitherapy, Ms. Jana Irsáková, along with committee member Ms. Nika Pengal, recently visited the headquarters of the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association (ČZS). During their visit, they also explored the association's website.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss the development of apitherapy guidelines, education of apitherapists, the use of bee products, and the work of apitherapists. However, a review of the ČZS website's search results revealed that these specific guidelines, as set by the Scientific Committee on Apitherapy, were not explicitly detailed.

The available information on the website primarily focused on queen breeding programs, legal protection of the Carniolan bee, and general apicultural activities such as apitourism and apipedagogy (education related to bee products) in Slovenia and Croatia. While these topics are crucial, they do not specifically outline formal guidelines or standards established by the SCA for apitherapists or apitherapy practice.

Despite this, it can be inferred that the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association's involvement in scientific and regulated approaches to beekeeping, breeding, and veterinary care likely informs apitherapy standards indirectly through the high-quality origin and control of bee products. Furthermore, the support for apitherapy promotion, education, and development by organisations like the Croatian Apitherapy Society (HAD), which engages in apipedagogical efforts and public education during designated months for apiculture awareness, underscores the commitment to this field.

In light of this, the ČZS website plans to set guidelines for the development of apitherapy, with a special page dedicated to this purpose soon to be introduced. Direct consultation of the committee's official documentation or contact with the committee would be necessary to obtain the precise current guidelines for the development, education, use, and practice of apitherapy as set by the Scientific Committee on Apitherapy on the ČZS website.

Mr. Boštjan Noč, the president of the website, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating, "We are thrilled to have Ms. Irsáková and Ms. Pengal visit us, and we look forward to working together to establish comprehensive guidelines for apitherapy."

The visit to the CŽS headquarters was not only significant for the discussions held but also for the mutual understanding and collaboration that was fostered. The visit involved Ms. Jana Irsáková and Ms. Nika Pengal from the scientific committee on apitherapy, and it is hoped that this collaboration will lead to a unified program for the education of apitherapists and the promotion of best practices in the use of bee products for therapeutic purposes.

  1. It appears that the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association (ČZS) is planning to establish guidelines for the development of apitherapy, making their website a potential source for information about the education of apitherapists, use of bee products, and best practices in apitherapy, as set by the Scientific Committee on Apitherapy.
  2. With a special page on apitherapy guidelines soon to be introduced on the ČZS website, the collaboration between the scientific committee and the association is expected to provide a unified program for the education of apitherapists and the promotion of best practices in the use of bee products for mental-health, health-and-wellness, and other therapeutic purposes. In this respect, the ČZS website may become a significant resource for those interested in science and apitherapies-and-treatments.
