On his 60th birthday, Oliver Andresen chose to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer. Instead of traditional gifts, he asked his guests to donate money to a social cause.

The beneficiary of his generosity was the Kinder-Krebs-Hilfswerk (Children's Cancer Aid), a charity close to Oliver's heart. He has been a loyal supporter of the benefit concerts organised by the foundation.

Oliver donated 2,000 euros to Dieter and Monika Rebbert, a couple associated with the Children's Cancer Aid, who have set a personal donation goal of 1 million euros. The donation brings them closer to their goal. Dieter and Monika accepted the donation check with gratitude, acknowledging Oliver's admiration for their voluntary work at Children's Cancer Aid Unna.

Cancer in children is a serious issue that requires our collective effort. Four out of five children who fall ill with cancer can now be cured, but every cent counts in advancing these successes in therapy. Oliver's donation, and the encouragement he gave his guests to follow suit, will undoubtedly contribute to these efforts.

Oliver's intention was to inspire others in his age group, who may have no material desires, to support social causes in a similar manner. This practice not only saves people from the burden of finding suitable gifts but also allows them to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

In a world where material possessions often dominate, Oliver's birthday celebration serves as a reminder that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a significant difference. His support for Children's Cancer Aid is a testament to his compassion and a call to action for others to join him in the fight against childhood cancer.
