In the heart of Berlin, the Tiergarten played host to the annual "Rave The Planet" event, attracting an estimated 200,000 people this year, according to organisers. However, the number of attendees was lower than last year due to rainy weather, which also impacted the operations of the medical service.

CEO Timm Zeiss reported that the medical service treated hundreds of patients, a significant drop compared to the 600 people treated last year. The majority of cases involved classic event symptoms, such as alcohol- or drug-related issues, and some severe and life-threatening injuries.

In a peaceful and disruption-free atmosphere, as described by the authority, the medical service collaborated closely with the fire department at the event. Over 50 ambulance transports were performed by firefighters to hospitals, with approximately 89 people injured and more than 50 hospitalized, many in critical condition.

The exact triggers of the incidents were not exhaustively detailed, but the injuries are believed to have resulted from factors typical to large electronic music events such as crowd surges, panic, potential substance-related issues, and insufficient crowd control. The event's large-scale nature, coupled with multiple incidents, created hazardous conditions that led to the high number of injuries and hospitalizations.

No single cause like structural failure or violence was reported. Instead, the multiple incidents suggest a combination of circumstances that contributed to the hazardous conditions at the event.

Despite the challenging circumstances, the collaboration between the medical service and the fire department at the event was commendable, ensuring the safety and well-being of those in attendance. The exact incidents that occurred at the event were not detailed, but the response from emergency services was swift and effective in managing the situation.
