"Divine Intervention": Biker pair endures motor vehicle wreckage – pleading for assistance now

In a tragic turn of events, Alexander Will and Marie Weeger, residents of Düsseldorf, were involved in a motorcycle accident on the A61 near Grafschaft on June 22.

The accident occurred approximately 1.5 hours after they set off from Rüdesheim am Rhein. The collision with a car on the left lane of the highway happened at a speed of between 110 and 120 km/h, resulting in life-threatening injuries for both Alex and Marie.

Alexander, who was driving, and Marie, his passenger, were flown by helicopter to separate hospitals: Alex to the University Hospital Cologne, and Marie to the University Hospital Bonn.

For Alex and Marie, the motorcycle has been more than just a means of transportation in recent years.

In the aftermath of the accident, Alex and Marie launched a fundraising campaign on the "Gofundme" platform to cover their rehabilitation expenses. Alex states that neither of them suffered organ injuries, and their injuries are limited above the hip. However, Alex did require a skin transplant, and he was able to stand up for the first time two days ago, but his circulation collapsed.

Marie, on the other hand, has multiple broken pelvises and soft tissue damage, a broken lower leg, and skin, muscles, and tendons on Alex's foot injured down to the bone. Assistive devices such as a shower aid will also be needed for their rehabilitation.

As of now, almost 9,000 euros of the hoped-for 16,000 euros have already been collected for their campaign. The support they receive from donations, stories, and encouragement helps them emotionally, morally, and practically.

Those who wish to support Alex and Marie's fundraising campaign can do so online via the "gofundme" platform. The rehabilitation journey for both has been a challenging five weeks, but they continue to fight to recover from their injuries.

The current status of the rehabilitation fundraising campaign for Alex and Marie related to the A61 motorcycle accident in Düsseldorf could not be found in the recent search results, as they mainly covered unrelated topics such as speed limits in Germany, TikTok videos about driving, and medical research on bowel disease.
