Date Now Holds Dark Secret: 20-Year-Old Victim Raped, Suspect, 38, Met on Social Media
In a significant development, the Carabinieri of San Donato Milanese have arrested a 38-year-old man named Michele A. on September 15, in connection with a case of sexual assault that occurred on March 17.
Michele A., who hails from Foggia but resides in the Milan area, was taken into custody for a previous incident. The arrest was made possible due to a video provided by the victim, which showed part of the license plate of the suspect's blue Volkswagen Maggiolone.
The incident unfolded when the victim, a 20-year-old woman, agreed to meet Michele A. at the San Donato Milanese metro station on March 17. Upon exiting the station, she was met by a man identified as Alessandro, who was waiting for her in a blue Volkswagen Maggiolone, as per the victim's report.
However, the man's intentions were far from innocent. According to the woman's statement, the man pulled out a kitchen knife from his pants pocket and demanded that she have sex with him. Allegedly, after claiming to have taken a wrong turn, the man stopped in a dead-end alley and locked the doors.
The victim managed to escape from the car after the man took her phone, deleted their conversation, and attempted to steal money from her bag. She quickly recorded a video of the car before it drove away, which proved crucial in the investigation.
Coordinated by the on-duty prosecutor Sara Ombra, the Carabinieri used the video to trace the car's license plate, leading to the arrest of Michele A.
Michele A. was convicted for actual sexual violence against a woman in 2023, and Judge Rossana Mongiardo stated that his pursuit of pleasure has become due to a sick and pathological dependency. His lack of empathy allows him to exploit the vulnerabilities of his victims, making him a particularly dangerous individual.
In a subsequent development, an international arrest warrant was issued for Michele A. in connection with another assault case in Milan in 2023. The police are urging anyone with information regarding Michele A.'s whereabouts to come forward.
