Daily Agenda for 'Tour dementia' Action: Details on activities for families affected by dementia
On September 17, 2025, Bergisch Gladbach will host a Dementia Action Day, an event aimed at raising awareness and providing resources for those affected by dementia. This initiative was started by the local Alzheimer's Association.

At 10:00 AM, Senior Physician Meike Jacobsen will give a lecture titled "Dement - what now?" at the DRK Refrather Treff. Claudia Freudenberger from the guardianship office of the city of Bergisch Gladbach will follow with a lecture titled "Legal representation options in dementia - legal guardianship is good, but a living will is better" at 12:00 PM, also at the DRK Refrather Treff.
In the afternoon, a tour "With all senses" with curator Maike Sturm and dance offer "In the rhythm of memory" - movement for people with and without dementia of TV Refrath - will take place at Villa Zanders at 4:00 PM. Registration for the offer is required by September 15, 2025.
The Regional Office for Aging, Care, and Dementia Bergisches Land annually organizes a bike tour, the "Tour Demenz", which will make a stop in Bergisch Gladbach this year. The bike group will start its tour and be welcomed by the First Deputy Mayor Anna Maria Scheerer and other representatives. The group will take a break at the Marktplatz Stadtmitte around 3:25 PM. Information booths will be available from 2:30 PM, including the Contact office for self-help care, Stadtbücherei, Guardianship office, Aging support office, Care counseling Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, ADFC Rhein-Berg, and Radwerk (Caritas).
The media exhibition on the topic of dementia will be held at Stadtbücherei am Forum from September 15-27. Additionally, "The radiance of old age" - portrait photos from the encounter centers of Caritas RheinBerg - will be displayed on the Marktplatz Stadtmitte from 2:30 PM.
The action day is held in conjunction with the upcoming World Alzheimer's Day. At 5:30-7:00 PM, Nicole Sutschet, Police Sergeant and traffic safety advisor of the accident prevention, will give a lecture titled "Driving with dementia - assistance for relatives and interested parties" at the Volkshochschule Bergisch Gladbach.
