Criminal penalties apply for sexual harassment under BPOLI EF
A disturbing incident has come to light, involving multiple reports of sexual harassment on a train journey from North Thuringia to Erfurt. The Federal Police Inspectorate in Erfurt has initiated an investigation against a 24-year-old Afghan man for sexual harassment and an indecent act.
According to reports, the incidents occurred at Erfurt Central Station. A woman, travelling on the same journey, was the first to report the harassment. The harasser was a man who stared at her inappropriately and appeared aroused while manipulating his covered genitals. The woman left her initial seat due to the harassment.
Two other women reported similar incidents on the same train journey. One of them left her seat as well, feeling uncomfortable and distressed. Another woman also reported a similar case on the same train.
Upon arrival in Erfurt, officers separated the 24-year-old man from the victims. The train conductor was informed about the incident. The name of the man under investigation has not been publicly disclosed.
