Clinic in Solingen treats patient named "Elly"

In a heartwarming turn of events, a six-year-old girl named Mariam has been reunited with her beloved stuffed animal, "Little Beta" (now known as "Elly"), after it was found in the Outpatient Emergency Department of the Solingen Clinic's new "Beta" building.

The toy, resembling a sheep, was discovered by an unknown individual and left behind in the clinic. The nursing staff and doctors at the "Beta" building took the stuffed animal under their care, ensuring it was comfortable with a bed and a sheep's wool blanket.

During its stay, "Little Beta" received medical attention when it was found to be in a less than perfect condition. Missing an arm, a leg, and sporting a hole in its ear, the toy appeared thin and not as white as usual. Despite this, the staff at the clinic showed great care and concern, initiating medical treatment to nurse it back to health.

Dr. Imke Genzel, who took care of the final fur grooming and played the role of the godmother for "Little Beta", reported about the situation on the Solingen Clinic's social media channels. The medical team worked diligently, and after a few hours, "Little Beta" was in a healthy condition.

Following its recovery, "Little Beta" was no longer a patient at the Solingen Clinic. The medical team discharged the toy, and the patient bed was returned to Mariam and her mother.

The reunion of Mariam and "Little Beta" was made possible by a post on Facebook and Instagram. The heartwarming story caught the attention of many, and it wasn't long before the girl and her toy were back together.

Dr. Genzel, who also acted as the godmother for "Little Beta", named the toy after the "Beta" building where it was found. The true name of the toy, however, is "Elly".

In the end, "Elly" is back home where she belongs, and Mariam can once again cuddle her beloved toy. The story serves as a reminder of the care and compassion shown by the staff at the Solingen Clinic, even towards the smallest of patients.
