Celebrating Inclusive Shopping in Bad Waldsee: The Successful Inauguration of the Lego/Duplo Ramp at Blumen Kraus

Bad Waldsee continues to lead the way in providing accessible shopping experiences for all its citizens, with the recent inauguration of a Lego/Duplo ramp at Blumen Kraus. This vibrant, playful ramp marks the first of three such ramps to be built in the town as part of the "Altstadt für Alle" project, a testament to Bad Waldsee's commitment to improving accessibility for people with physical disabilities.

The inauguration ceremony was a joyous occasion attended by Carina Müller, the project leader of the Stiftung Liebenau's Inklusionsprojekt, Margit Geiger, speaking on behalf of her daughter, Iris Kraus, the shop owner, and other local officials, employees, and students.

The Lego ramp at Blumen Kraus was built by participating students and people with disabilities at the Bildungs-, Begegnungs- und Förderzentrum (BBF) Bad Waldsee and the Jugendhaus Prisma. The ramp, consisting of two precisely fitting parts that are nearly millimeter-accurate, is a colourful addition to the shop, made entirely of Lego and Duplo materials.

The ramp's installation has brought immense relief to local residents like Linda Samtner, a wheelchair user from Bad Waldsee, who experienced the joy of independently entering the Kraus flower shop for the first time on Tuesday. The ramp's construction is a significant step forward in ensuring that Bad Waldsee remains a welcoming and inclusive shopping destination for everyone.

The construction of these Lego ramps in Bad Waldsee is a collaborative effort between the Stiftung Liebenau and the city of Bad Waldsee, funded by Aktion Mensch. The project is part of a broader effort to provide all citizens and visitors with a pleasant shopping experience, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity in the town.

As the Lego/Duplo ramps continue to be installed at other businesses in Bad Waldsee, such as the hairdresser's salon Beck & Zechner in Wurzacher Straße and the fast-food restaurant "EAT! We Love Food" at Ravensburger Tor, the town is set to become a shining example of how accessibility and creativity can come together to create a more enjoyable shopping experience for everyone.

  1. The colorful Lego/Duplo ramp at Blumen Kraus in Bad Waldsee serves as a testament to the region's commitment to health-and-wellness and lifestyle, as it not only offers an accessible shopping experience but also fosters a playful atmosphere.
  2. As Bad Waldsee progresses with its "Altstadt für Alle" project, integrating themes of science and education through the Lego/Duplo ramps, it positions itself as a forward-thinking town that prioritizes shopping experiences that cater to diverse groups of people.
