Apple Launches Three Health Studies to Advance Medical Research

Apple has opened three health studies for enrollment: the Apple Women's Health Study, Apple Heart and Movement Study, and Apple Hearing Study. These studies aim to gather data from participants to advance medical research. The Research app, available on iPhone 6s or later with iOS 13.2 or later, is used for enrollment and participation.

Apple, the tech giant, designs, funds, and conducts these studies in collaboration with renowned research institutions. The Apple Heart and Movement Study, for instance, is a joint effort with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the American Heart Association. Participants can join using the Research app, which is part of Apple's initiative to enable large-scale medical studies with users.

For the Apple Heart and Movement Study, participants need an Apple Watch Series 1 or later with watchOS 6.1 or later. This study, along with the others, focuses on collecting data to improve understanding of various health aspects. Apple ensures the technical infrastructure while partner institutions handle data collection and scientific evaluation.

The Apple Women's Health Study, Apple Heart and Movement Study, and Apple Hearing Study are now open for enrollment. These studies, conducted by Apple in collaboration with leading research institutions, use the Research app for participation. Each study has specific device requirements and aims to contribute to medical research in different health areas.
