Craving a mountainous adventure without leaving the city? The German Alpine Club (DAV) has just the thing for you! Their revamped Alpine Museum in Munich now boasts an authentic 3D Alpine relief, a historic biwak box, and much more.

Everest in Your Pocket - Ready to begin your adventure? don't miss out on the star attraction - the approximately 30 square meters large Alpine relief. This miniature mountain range was carefully crafted using a sophisticated 3D printing process on a sand base, replicating the Alpine arc in a 1:100,000 scale. Heights are represented twice for improved visibility. Each peak and location is labeled with a brass marker for a more immersive experience.

Bask in the sunshine while remembering those who couldn't - Among the objects on display is a commemorative stone for Jewish mountaineers who were tragically excluded from the Alpine Club, serving as a poignant reminder of the past. Struggling climbers might find solace in the nearby bouldering stones.

Barrier-free and hanging with the environment - The entire museum and garden, designed by DAV, is now accessible to all. Spanning over 6,000 square meters on Prater Island, this project strives to harmonize nature and museum space.

Welcome back, Alpine Museum - After undergoing a three-year refurbishment for a cool 10.5 million euros, the Alpine Museum has reopened its doors. Covering 600 square meters, the venue now offers everything from exhibitions and events to a gastronomic area and a library.

Climate conscious design - Concerned about the environment? The building itself is a model of climate-neutral design as air-conditioning has been dispensed with. The DAV aims to be carbon-neutral by 2030.

Community policy: The DAV, as part of their refurbishment, aims to be carbon-neutral by 2030, demonstrating a commitment to environmental-science and taking climate-change into consideration in their design.

Vocational training: The museum, outfitted with a gastronomic area and a library, provides opportunities for vocational training in areas such as culinary arts and research.

Health-and-wellness, fitness-and-exercise: Visitors can find solace in the nearby bouldering stones, or enjoy the sunshine while remembering the past, promoting overall health-and-wellness and fitness-and-exercise.

Science: The 3D printing process used to create the Alpine relief is a scientific marvel, providing an immersive experience for museum-goers by replicating the Alpine arc in a scale that allows for improved visibility.

Environmental-science: The museum's design, harmonizing nature and museum space, strives to minimize its impact on the environment, promoting the principles of environmental-science and sustainability.
