Almaty Praises 'Ashyq' App for COVID Safety Enforcement
Almaty's chief sanitary doctor, Zhandarbek Bekshin, has praised the 'Ashyq' app for its role in enforcing COVID-19 safety norms. The app, developed by the Kazakh government, is gaining traction among local entrepreneurs and has been successfully piloted in various businesses.
The 'Ashyq' app determines a client's COVID status using a QR code, displaying it as 'red', 'yellow', 'blue', or 'green'. It does not access personal data, instead using the IIN (Individual Identification Number) for checks. The app has been tested in 27 businesses across Almaty, including cafes, restaurants, fitness centers, spas, and swimming pools. This follows successful pilots in Nur-Sultan and Karaganda. Entrepreneurs in Almaty are increasingly adopting the app, with Bekshin noting its help in ensuring additional control over sanitary norms.
The 'Ashyq' app, developed for COVID-19 safety monitoring and contact tracing, is proving effective in Almaty. It provides an efficient, non-intrusive way to check clients' COVID status without compromising personal data. As entrepreneurs embrace the technology, it is set to play a significant role in the city's COVID-19 management.
